Description

The Nigerite Solo Roofing Sheet is a corrugated fibre-cement sheet designed for durability, fire resistance, and weather performance. Made by Nigerite Limited, it provides a reliable roofing solution suited for residential and commercial buildings, offering a balance of strength and insulation with low maintenance needs.

Key Features:

  • Material: Fibre-cement composite — strong, stable and non-combustible.
  • Dimensions: Standard panel size is 0.685 m (width) × 1.8 m (length).
  • Thickness: Approximately 3.5 mm, based on product listings similar to Litespan / Solo-type sheets.
  • Fire Resistant: Does not contribute significantly to the spread of fire — ideal for fire-safe roofing applications.
  • Pre-Mixed Colours: Comes in terracotta red, brown, and yellow / ochre — pigment mixed in during manufacture, not just surface paint.
  • Thermal Insulation: Fibre-cement composition helps reduce heat transfer, offering better insulation than many metal alternatives.
  • Noise Reduction: Better sound damping during rainfall compared to metal roofs, due to its dense composition.

Instructions

Usage / Installation Instructions:

  1. Install over properly spaced purlins or trusses, ensuring structural support.
  2. Lay sheets from the lower edge of the roof upward, allowing for proper side-lap and end-lap for waterproofing.
  3. Use corrosion-resistant fasteners (e.g., roofing nails or bolts + washers) at crests of corrugation, per manufacturer guidelines.
  4. Periodically clean off debris, leaves, and overgrowth to maintain drainage and prevent water pooling.
  5. Store unused sheets in a dry, flat area — moisture or warping can reduce sheet integrity.

Ideal Applications:

  • Residential housing (homes, bungalows)
  • Small commercial buildings (shops, offices)
  • Roofs where fire safety and insulation are prioritized
